NFL Spreads for Late-Season 2010 Games!
by Aaron Torres

Even if the live football betting season is still a few weeks away, for football bettors worldwide, it’s never too early to start placing wagers.
But forget about NFL Week 1 betting spreads, or even Week 2 or Week 3, because for the first time, the BetUS sportsbook is offering lines on select matchups for all 17 weeks of the 2010 NFL season.
Let’s go ahead and take a look at a few late season matchups that could pay off big, if you bet them now.
Week 9: Indianapolis Colts at Philadelphia Eagles
Indianapolis: -3 (-105)
Philadelphia: +3 (-125)
This is a crucial game for the defending AFC Champs, as this will be their first of five straight against 2009 playoff teams.
Heading to Philadelphia, we know to expect from Peyton Manning and the Colts, as last year’s second-ranked pass defense will go up against Philadelphia’s shaky secondary. However, that defensive backfield got a lift in the offseason with the addition of first round draft pick Earl Thomas.
On the flip side, what should we expect from the Eagles? This will be their first season in almost a decade without Donovan McNabb under center, as Kevin Kolb takes over the reins for the departed signal-caller. By Week 9, will this offense be firing on all cylinders, or falling apart?
The safe play here is the Colts. Any time you can take Peyton Manning giving just a field goal, it always seems like a smart play. NFL Free Picks: Indianapolis -3 (-105)
Week 10: Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
Dallas: PK (-115)
New York: PK (-115)
The NFC East always seems to come down to late season games like this, as the Cowboys and Giants will do battle for the second time in four weeks in Week 10.
After winning the division last year, it seems like this might be the year Dallas finally breaks through to its first Super Bowl of the Tony Romo era. The 30-year-old quarterback is coming off one his best statistical seasons ever, throwing for just under 4500 yards and 26 TD’s. This offense looks to be bulked up with the addition of stud wide receiver Dez Bryant and a healthy Felix Jones at running back.
New York, on the other hand, is coming off a disappointing 8-8, marred by a 3-8 finish after a 5-0 start. And with this matchup sandwiched between road trips to Seattle and Philadelphia, this is an essential must-win for them.
It’s because of that last little piece of information that you should take the Giants in the betting odds. While Dallas has more overall talent, it’s New York that will come in more desperate. They should be the only play you make here. NFL Free Picks: New York PK (-115)
Week 11: Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings
Green Bay: +3 (-125)
Minnesota: -3 (-105)
We all remember what happened last year when Green Bay visited Brett Favre and the Vikings in the Metrodome right? Minnesota’s front seven made the night miserable for Aaron Rodgers, as the Vikings cruised to a 30-23 victory, that was a more one side on the field than the final score would indicate.
Well don’t expect much different in 2010. Minnesota’s offense will still be explosive, with Favre expected to return at quarterback (We all know he’s coming back, right?), and Adrian Peterson- who will be looking for his fourth straight 1300+ yard season- at running back. Add in a deep group of wide receivers, and the Vikings will still be able to put points on the board.
As for Green Bay? While their offensive line was fortified with the addition of draft pick Brian Bulaga, they still won’t have an answer for the Vikings front line, especially end Jared Allen. NFL Free Picks: Minnesota -3 (-10
Week 12: Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets
Cincinnati: +6 (-115)
New York: -6 (-115)
With both teams having improved since their playoff runs last year, this could be one of the deciding games of the entire 2010 season in the AFC.
With the additions on offense of Santonio Holmes at wide receiver, and LaDainian Tomlinson and rookie Joe McKnight at running back, and an already strong defense, the Jets looking strong, at least on paper. And, if the Bungles pick up outcast free agent and locker room cancer wide receiver Terrell Owens, you almost know he’s going to tear that fragile team apart by this time.
Rex Ryan has the J-E-T-S walking the walk heading into the season. By Week 12 they’ll be talking the talk. Free NFL Picks: New York -6
