Could This Be Tampa Bay’s Year?
by BetUS Staff
There hasn’t been a whole lot of talk regarding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this off-season. As NFL teams head to training camp, the Bucs appears to be that forgotten team, the one divisional champion of a year ago that nobody seems to care that much about.
I mean, they aren’t nearly as sexy as Tony Romo and the Packers look to battle it out for the division.
In fact, one could argue that the defending NFC South Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been written off before the 2008 – 2009 New Orleans Saints that everybody is talking about as the team to beat in the NFC South.
But the Bucs are the defending NFC South Champions. There has to be something there, right? For BetUS online sportsbook fans to cling to? Is there any hope in Tampa Bay for a repeat of last year’s playoff appearance?
Well, there absolutely is. And, should the Bucs make a key acquisition before training camp starts, their chances of making tons of cash for online betting fans would dramatically increase. The acquisition that I’m writing about, of course, would be to get Brett Favre into a Tamp Bay Buccaneers’ uniform.
Let’s take a look at the BetUS online sportsbook and assess the true chances of this sometimes enigmatic team.
To Win the Super Bowl - - Tampa Bay, right now, is 45 to 1 to win the 2008 – 2009 Super Bowl. The BetUS online Dallas, the two best teams in the NFC on paper, struggle.
That can happen because the Bucs have John Gruden calling the shots. Now, if the Bucs were to some way get Brett Favre then I’d consider the 45 to 1 odds a gross overlay. With Favre this team improves dramatically. Garcia is a good quarterback but Favre is a great quarterback and working with John Gruden would only make Brett better.
Let’s say that anything at 20 to 1 or above on this team to win the Super Bowl with Brett Favre are good online NFL odds.
Over 8 Regular Season Wins or Under 8 Regular Season Wins - - The Falcons, the other two teams in their division, twice each this coming NFL season. They only need to steal a few games outside of their division to win 9 this year.
That makes the online betting odds – 120 on the over very tempting. Having Brett Favre play quarterback for the Bucs should put at least another two wins into their column. If Favre were to come to Tampa Bay, then I’d fully expect 10 to 11 wins this season.
To Win the NFC Conference - - The Super Bowl win.
They won’t repeat. The Eagles have issues all over the place. With Favre the odds should drop to around 8 to 1 which would make the Bucs a suitable alternative to the Saints in the BetUS online sportsbook.
The 2008 Super Bowl XLII and beyond!
