Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 7: Smart Pickups
by Al Simmons

With week 7 coming up the biggest position being affect by the bye week is running back. The only wide receivers being missed will be Brandon Marshall, Calvin Johnson and Mike Sims-Walker.
The running backs off this week include Ray Rice, Willis McGahee, Knowshon Moreno, Kevin Smith, Maurice Jones-Drew, Julius Jones and Chris Johnson. Most, if not all, have been starting Fantasy options at some point this year.
While there isn't much help on the waiver wire, an injury in Week 6 may have opened an opportunity. And it's a name most of you know but have tried to avoid the past two years -- Laurence Maroney.
Bye Week Teams: Denver, Detroit, Tennessee, Seattle, Jacksonville, Baltimore
Miami QB Chad Henne: Henne is a nice bye week plug in player. Miami hosts New Orleans in a game where Miami will be playing from behind and throwing alot. Don’t count on Henne to throw for more than 200 yards and 2 TDs though.
New England RB Laurence Maroney: After rushing for 123 yards & scoring a TD against the Titans and injuries to Fred Taylor & Sammy Morris, it seems to be now the number one option for the Patriots.
San Francisco WR Michael Crabtree: he hasn’t played a single down yet but he has a lot of upside…pick him up and stash him on your bench and see if he can be an impact player.
WR Lance Moore: The pass happy Saints have plenty of weapons, but Drew Brees loves to share the ball. Moore is a solid #3 WR as long as he stays healthy.
WR Hakeem Nicks: Nicks is making a strong case to be the top rookie this season with his performance the past three weeks. Nicks has a touchdown in three consecutive games, and he's averaging 72 receiving yards over that span.
Colts DST: Colts D continues to play well and have become a fantasy DST option you can use week in week out. And with Bob Sanders returning they can only get better. Great matchup against the Rams coming off the bye week.
