2018 NFC Conference Championship Free Betting Picks

The NFC Conference Championship will take place this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles will take on the visiting Minnesota Vikings, who are coming off a thriller over the New Orleans Saints.

The Vikings come into the game as a 3-point road favorite. The total for the game is listed at 38.5. I've got to say, I like these lines, and have two solid picks for the NFC title game.

The Minnesota Vikings, who are known for their defense (as made clear by their 15.8 points allowed), scored 29 points against New Orleans. As a matter of fact, they're on an offensive tear. Minny averaged 23.8 points during the regular season, passing the 29-point mark seven times in 2017.In seven of their games this season they scored 29 or more during the regular season.

The Philadelphia Eagles were an offensive team with Carson Wentz as their play caller, though they're coming off a game where they put up just 15 in a win over Atlanta (thanks, Nick Foles). The Eagles scored 28.6 points per game in the regular season and their defense allowed just over 18 per game. With Little Nicky at the helm, the Eagles have focused on defense.

Many are putting this game as a defensive battle, but look for this game to sail over the total. 38.5 is not very many, and both quarterbacks could certainly give up a big play going the wrong way. A pick six in a game like this certainly would swing the total. Betting the over 38.5 seems the right move for the NFC title game.

As far as the spread goes for this game,  it's hard to bet against the underdog. The Eagles showed the Falcons that they were not an underdog last week. Philadelphia can move the ball when they need to. Look for the Eagles to open up the offense a little bit and use Jay Ajayi and LeGarrette Blount to batter that Minnesota defense.

Not only are you taking the over 38.5 in this game, it's also a wise move to bet the underdog at home. The Philadelphia Eagles +3 is the bet to make in this game.
