Another crazy week in the NFL. We saw more upsets as the Jets, Packers and Browns all pulled off great road wins. Meanwhile, the Bears re-asserted themselves as the NFC team to beat, and the Chargers/Broncos game looming will be between two 7-2 teams who both won.
Colts 17 Bills 16
A nice job of putting together a defensive game plan for Dick Jauron. He schemed well; just needed better clutch kicking and this would have been a tremendous win. The Bills covered easily, while the under prevailed.
49ers 19 Lions 13
Don’t look now, but the 49ers are finally playing some defense. Frank Gore was that workhorse on the ground this team needs and Alex Smith protected the ball enough to secure a win. A nice under and a straight out win for the underdog Niners.
Chargers 49 Bengals 41
It’s rare when you know a game is going to be an over after five minutes, but this was one of those games. That Cincy defense is dreadful and that Philip Rivers is getting better and better. The Chargers covered as a road favorite.
Ravens 27 Titans 26
This was a case of one team using its experience and composure to overcome a big deficit. Vince Young is improving nicely, but he is just not ready to contend any time soon. Tennessee did cover as a home dog.
Browns 17 Falcons 13
A lot of people lost money on this game- and I am not talking about the under coming through. The Falcons are just not a good bet now and ended up losing this game outright as the favorite. They are banged up and too inconsistent.
Eagles 27 Redskins 3
Does this mean Philly is back as a contender? Maybe. A terrible passing game and a well-prepared team coming off the bye enabled the Eagles to cover the spread and keep this game under the total.
Packers 23 Vikings 17
Brett Favre turned back the clock and was fantastic versus Minnesota. The Packers protected the ball well and won- period! It was a nice underdog win for bettors.
Jets 17 Patriots 14
Tom Brady doesn’t play two bad games in a row, right? Wrong. He needs to be better next week. Rodney Harrison missed this game and the New England secondary was worse off. A big under play and an easy dog cover for Jets backers.
Dolphins 13 Chiefs 10
Texans 13 Jaguars 10
Houston sweeps the season series by playing hard and watching Jaguar receivers drop pass after pass. An easy road dog cover and a surprising under.
Broncos 17 Raiders 13
Oakland came out hard and faded as usual, but not without covering and ensuring an under. Denver woke up in the second half and won an ugly contest.
Seahawks 24 Rams 22
Another thrilling chapter in this heated rivalry. Seattle came back to win a great game because Maurice Morris and Seneca Wallace played like Hasselbeck and Alexander. But, St. Louis did cover as a road dog.
Bears 38 Giants 20
Chicago got their offense back on track versus a banged up New York squad and also helped their cause on special teams. The Bears covered easily and pushed this total over the points.
