BetUS Top 12 NFL Teams to Bet On 12/06/06

There’s really no point in mentioning once again that the NFL is crazy and unpredictable. We need to tell you something you don’t know. Well here it is: We have a new number one team to bet on in the NFL! We’ve gone back and forth between the Bears and Colts, but there’s no more denying San Diego their rightful place atop the rankings.

Rank    (PVR)              Team                Reason

1             5                   Chargers          Shawne Merriman came back and put this team over the top in terms of these rankings. Merriman and Tomlinson could be the top defensive and offensive players in the NFL.

2             3                   Bears                The talk continues to center around Rex Grossman. But like Lovie Smith says, they’re 10-2 with Rex as the starter.

3             2                   Ravens             The offense is still not Super Bowl-caliber, but they have a great defense. Don’t read too much into that Bengals loss. It was hard fought.

4             4                   Patriots             It took everything we had to refrain from moving this club down after a lackluster effort at home to Detroit. Home field does not seem to be helping New England right now. Good thing they don’t have playoff home field advantage at the moment.

5             6                   Cowboys           They have arrived in the top five and we don’t anticipate them ending the season any lower than this position. Everything is clicking.

6             9                   Saints                Losing Hollis Thomas really hurts. They’ll just have to outscore their opponents. Unfortunately, we just don’t see it happening this Sunday in Dallas.

7             10                 Seahawks          The defense needs to get tighter, but overall Seattle is well positioned to get back to that championship-type level.

8             -                    Bengals             We have to admit, Cincy’s defense has absolutely shocked us. If they can hold up, this team will continue to climb on our list.

9             -                    Jaguars             Seeing Jacksonville vault on and off this list is getting quite nauseating already. However, if they beat the Colts this weekend, they are here to stay.

10           -                    Broncos             We have a feeling this is their last week on the list. Cutler will be in tough against San Diego. But growing pains are part of the business.

11           -                    Chiefs                 Kansas City has to learn to win on the road on a consistent basis, because if they do make the playoffs, that’s where they’ll be playing.

12           -                    Jets                    Say hello to one of the worst 7-5 teams of all-time. We fought putting them on this list for as long as we could. But we are now left with no choice. And the sick part? Their weak schedule will allow them to make the playoffs.

Honorable Mentions

Panthers (They just can’t hold a second half lead), Giants (We promise they’ll go down fighting), Atlanta (The Falcons will have to run their way into the postseason).
