The sub par season continues but we are undeterred. Sure, another week under .500 would discourage an ordinary man. However, we know there’s still money to be made from here on in. So let’s get to our three handpicked games of the week and get back on track.

Kansas City -2.5 @ Miami

Had the Dolphins lost last Sunday in Chicago as expected, you would have had to lay a touchdown or so if you wanted the Chiefs. But, a big win by Miami meansthis spread is under a field goal!

Kansas City won a big game on the road last week in St. Louis. They’ve won five of their last six games, including a couple of road wins. We like them to keep it going in this one. Larry Johnson should be able to move the ball effectively here and Damon Huard will be jacked up to face his former team.

As for the Dolphins? We do not expect Ronnie Brown to do what he did last week to the Bears. He has been disappointing to say the least in 2006 and we can’t see him putting up over 130 yards again. Take KC to keep their playoff push going and lay the points.

Houston +11 @ Jacksonville

Jacksonville piles up wins against poor teams, they’ve done it for two seasons now. Unfortunately, the Texans put a crimp in that plan a few weeks ago in Houston with a surprising win. The Jaguars are a much better team with David Garrard at quarterback and we don’t think this one will be pretty. The Texans played tough in New York last week, but we think it was a product of the Giants looking ahead to this matchup.

There is no letup for the Jags after an impressive win over Tennessee last week. Look for them to avenge that loss from a few weeks ago in a big way. Lay the points and take Jacksonville.

San Francisco +6.5 @ Detroit

Yes, the talk of moving is a distraction for the 49ers. However, this is a team coming off a big home win over Minnesota and we believe they keep it going. The 49ers’ defense finally stepped up and won them a game for the first time all season. Meanwhile, Detroit upset the Falcons at home last week.

Seeing as these are two of the more unpredictable teams in the NFL, you have to take the points here. San Francisco’s last road game was an embarrassment at Chicago. They’ll be out to prove they can win outside of California. Take San Fran and the points, as the Lions are not worth laying any money on when favored by nearly a touchdown.

Last Week: 1-2
Overall: 10-17
