In the BetUS NFL betting odds, the Cardinals are listed as an 8.5-point favorite, with a posted total of 46.5 points.
Here are some NFL football betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
- SEA has covered two of its last seven games
- SEA has lost 18 of its last 25 games SU
- SEA has played four of its last six games OVER the total
- SEA has covered one of its last six road games
- SEA has lost six of its last seven road games SU
- ARIZ has won and covered four of its last five games
- ARIZ has played four of its last six games UNDER the total
- ARIZ has won 12 of its last 18 home games SU
- ARIZ has played 13 of its last 17 home games OVER the total
Also...
- ARIZ has won and covered five of the last six meetings
- Eight of the last 11 meetings have gone OVER the total
- ARIZ has won and covered four of the last five meetings as the home team
- The last five meetings in Arizona have gone OVER the total
Seattle certainly doesn't want to revisit the nightmare of the last meeting between these two, when the Seahawks went down 14-0 without even running an offensive play. On the game, they had 14 yards on the ground, 128 yards overall from scrimmage, and were thoroughly embarrassed in front of the home crowd, which saw a horrible defeat, both straight-up and in the NFL betting odds.
They've only had a couple of games since then - a three-touchdown loss when they had to visit Dallas, and a come-from-behind win over Detroit at Qwest Field. The zone blocking scheme that offensive coordinator Greg Knapp put into place has not produced much in the way of results for this running game, as the 'Hawks have gobbled up 148 rushing yards in the last three.
Kurt Warner, who threw five interceptions against Carolina a couple of weeks ago in Glendale, went wild for five touchdowns in a redemption game at Soldier Field last Sunday. Now he's got Anquan Boldin back in the lineup, and that won't be a welcome sight for Seattle, which got torched for 32 completions and 276 yards by the Cardinals quarterback the first time around. In nine career games against Seattle, Boldin has 64 catches for 811 yards.
Seattle was banged up when these teams met before, but I'm not sure it isn't the offense that's going to be the problem for them here. Without a running game, Mat Hasselbeck had to put it up 51 times last week, which is something Jim Mora Jr. and his staff didn't want to do when they started out the season. We know that Arizona has underachieved at home, but we'll lay the points with the Cards, the 8.5-point favorite in the BetUS NFL betting odds.
JAY'S PLAY: ARIZONA -8.5 **
