NFL Betting - Week 15 Teaser Picks

Remember as you read these - the team we're using is on the left, with the "teased" number and the opponent in parentheses. The home team is in CAPS.

Here is a TWO-TEAM, SIX-POINT TEASER, where we're going to lay -110 in BetUS NFL Football betting:

San Francisco 49ers +13.5 (PHILADELPHIA EAGLES)
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS -1 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

I understand that the Niners would have a rough week, in that they played Arizona on Monday night and then have to turn around and travel to the east coast to play a team that looks like it is headed to the playoffs, and the Eagles, with DeSean Jackson, are a team that can strike right away.

But Mike Singletary's team is a very feisty dog, going 9-0-1 ATS in their last ten in that role. You know, it looks like after going from one extreme to another in its offensive approach, San Francisco is starting to get back to some balance between rushing and passing.

Seattle is very timid, and very horrid, when it goes on the road. The Seahawks have taken some terrible shellackings, including last week's 34-7 loss at Houston, but when they get home they can be formidable. At Qwest Field they have won three games by double digits, including shutouts of St. Louis and Jacksonville.

The Bucs fall into the category of a team who could be a candidate for an ass-whipping, especially since they have a rookie quarterback (Josh Freeman) who is making his first visit to the loudest stadium in the NFL; the one that causes a lot of delay of game penalties by making it so hard to check out of a play at the line of scrimmage. Remember that Tampa Bay has lost 16 of its last 17 games.

Now we do our FOUR-TEAM, 13-POINT TEASER as we're laying -150 in NFL:

DENVER BRONCOS -1 (Oakland Raiders)
BALTIMORE RAVENS +2 (Chicago Bears)
Arizona Cardinals pick (DETROIT LIONS)
WASHINGTON REDSKINS +16 (New York Giants)

The Raiders have been alternating between strong performances and awful flops. This week they seem to be due for a good one, but because they are now turning to Charlie Frye at quarterback I would not be looking for them to contend for the straight-up win.

Brandon Marshall could have followed Jay Cutler out of Denver. In light of that 21-catch effort in Indianapolis, the Broncos are glad they never pulled the trigger on that one.

Baltimore has found a way to really assert itself against some of the weak sisters. I really don't know how else to characterize the Bears at the moment. In the series Lovie Smith considered his most important (against Green Bay) they were swept. Cutler has 22 interceptions. This is not a well-coordinated effort. With Baltimore now looking to establish an inside track for a playoff spot, I do not see the Ravens underachieving enough to lose this ballgame.

Arizona has generally been a very good road team, although they slipped badly in an unusually flat effort against San Francisco. But that is the reason we see the Cardinals, and in particular Kurt Warner, who turned it over three times against the Niners, coming back strong here.

Daunte Culpepper will play in place of Matthew Stafford, who's out, and he's had an even lower QB rating than Stafford.

The Giants look to stay alive in the playoff race in the Monday night game. However, you can't hardly argue with anything the Redskins have done lately, beating Denver, taking Dallas, Philadelphia and New Orleans to the brink, then traveling west to score a three-touchdown win over Oakland. There are no playoff hopes, but this defense is very much alive and Jason Campbell appears to be improving.

Sure, with Bruce Allen's hiring, Jim Zorn's days are certainly numbered, but we're happy to take the extra points.
