The XBOX 360 simulation of the NFL Betting. The 21-17 final score cashed all Giants backer’s spread tickets, and it also cashed a large +270 $$$-Line ticket as well bringing home a nice return in the final Playoff game of the weekend. Unfortunately, the 38-combined points fell short of the ‘Total’, so the game sims prognostication of a 38-24 final was grossly in error. Still, we brought home a nice chunk of change playing the Giants large with the spread and on the $$$-Line to give us a positive overall day.
The game sim called for Dallas to head into the locker room at the half with a 17-10 lead, and a 7-point lead at the half looked almost certain when RB Barber plunged into the endzone form 1-yard out to give Dallas a 14-7 l4ead with :56 seconds left in the 1st half. However, QB Eli Manning went off spreading the ball around to a number of WR’s before finding WR Amani Toomer from 4-yards out to tie the game up at 14 apiece.
The second half was where the game simulation expected NY to take the game over. It has them putting up 21 unanswered points on the board in the 3rd quarter mainly due to a couple of 70+ yard TD runs by RB Brandon Jacobs to allow them to take their first lead of the game. It wasn’t to be though as the Giants didn’t even put a dent on the scoreboard in the 3rd frame and Dallas picked up a 34-yard FG by K Nick Folk to take a 17-14 lead into the final stanza. This is when RB Jacobs finally made his presence known when he plunged into the endzone from 1-yard out to give the Giants the lead with 13+ minutes to go in the game. The rest of the game saw Dallas get into Giants territory on a number of occasions, but they just couldn’t come up with the big play when they needed it most. NY tried its darnedest to hand the game over on offense as well. They had two possessions following the go ahead score that saw them go 3 and out twice, and hand it over to their defense that played a whale of a game. It was only fitting that CB RW McQuarters sealed the fate of the Cowboys when he intercepted QB Tony Romo’s pass in the end zone on the Cowboys final play from scrimmage. Eli took a knee, and the Giants secured their 9th straight road victory (NFL record), and will head to Lambeau next week to play for the rights to partake in Super Bowl XLII.

The game simulation predicted that NY would have a much better game offensively than what actually took place. They were held to less than 100 yards rushing, and QB Manning only threw for a total of 140 yards. On the other hand, you would have expected Dallas to have won this game just by looking at the boxscore. They dominated time of possession as predicted in the game simulation, but they also reeled off more passing/rushing yardage and attained 70 more total yards. However, they didn’t convert all their red zone opportunities as projected by the simulation, and they lost the turnover battle when Romo’s pass was INT’s to end the game.
The game sim may have called for an inordinate amount of points to be scored in this game, but it did predict a big underdog victory by the Giants.
