NFL Parlay Picks – Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers

NFL Week 13 Parlay - Buccaneers vs. Panthers (-5½)
(O/U) 40
Sunday, Dec. 6 1:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-10 SU, 4-7 ATS, 6-5 O/U) and Carolina Panthers (4-7 SU, 4-7 ATS, 5-6 O/U) will both be looking to bounce back from losses in Week 12.
The Buccaneers are still in search of their second win of the season after winning in Week 9 while Carolina hopes to hold on to its nearly non-existent playoff hopes for one more game while trying to finish at .500 or better.
Tampa Bay 411
- Buccaneers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
- Buccaneers are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games following a S.U. loss.
- Buccaneers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win.
The Buccaneers lost to Atlanta 20-17 in Week 12, but managed to cash in for pro football betting backers that played them as 12-point road underdogs against the Falcons.
Blossoming rookie quarterback Josh Freeman passed for 250 yards with two touchdowns, hooking up with wideout Antonio Bryant three times for 91 yards and one score.
The Bucs have gone a profitable 3-1 ATS over their last four games after going 1-5 ATS in their previous six.
Carolina 411
- Panthers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. NFC.
- Panthers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games in December.
- Panthers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NFC South.
The Panthers couldn’t generate any offense as they lost to the New York Jets 17-6 in Week 12, failing to cover the NFL moneyline as a 4-point road underdog.
Veteran Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme was victimized throughout the contest, throwing for just 127 yards and tossing a whopping four interceptions while DeAngelo Williams was held to 40 yards on 16 carries.
The Panthers have failed to cover the spread in two consecutive games after cashing in for NFL football betting backers in their previous three games.
Head-to-Head Trends
- Favorite is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
- Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Carolina.
- Buccaneers are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 meetings.
- Buccaneers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 meetings in Carolina.
Analysis: I’ll be honest and admit that I don’t really like either team in this contest very much. However, the Buccaneers are actually in far worse shape than the home Panthers in this matchup.
Carolina will start young quarterback Matt Moore and that could either be an improvement over the struggling Jake Delhomme or not, there really is no telling how well Moore will perform.
The Buccaneers are so young though and Carolina does have some star players on the roster in DeAngelo Williams, Julius Peppers and Steve Smith, that the Panthers are the correct pick to win this game and narrowly cover the NFL point spread over the lowly Buccaneers.
All of the key trends for this ballgame also point to a Panthers payday with Carolina going a spotless 4-0 ATS in their last four games against NFC opponents and a blistering 5-1 ATS in their last six games against their NFC South Division rivals.
The Favorite in this series has gone a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings and the Buccaneers have managed to go just 2-6 ATS in their last eight meetings in Carolina.
In addition to playing the Panthers in this game, I also like the Under to cash in as the two offensively-challenged teams take the field.
The Under has gone a consistent 4-1 in the last five meetings between these division rivals in Carolina and the two teams are averaging a combined 34.6 points per game this season.
