NFL Wagering – Minnesota (-3) vs. Denver (+ 3)

Both Chicago Bears. That would put more pressure on each one of these teams.

The Vikes need the Redskins to lose while all the Redskins have to do is win outright in order to secure a playoff spot. I have my doubts as to whether or not a young team like the Vikings can play with kind of pressure, but before I get into that, let’s take a look at some trends:

The Minnesota Vikings are 3-2-2 against the spread when playing away so far this year.

The Denver Broncos are 3 and 4 against the spread at home this year.

The Denver Broncos are 2 and 10 against the spread versus a team with a winning record.

The trends say Vikings, but there has been a huge change in the past two games regarding the Vikings. Now that teams are keying on Adrien Petersen and Chester Taylor, the Vikings really have no other weapons.

Their quarterback, Tarvaris Jackson, hasn’t found a rhythm yet. In other words the Vikings can’t pass and unless you can pass against a terrific defense like the Denver Broncos, you aren’t going to score many points.

Champ Bailey all ready shuts down half the field for the Broncos. So, without a whole field what chance does Jackson have of finding the open receiver? Not a good one.

The Broncos wills stack the box with eight-men throughout this entire thing. That spells doom for the Vikings and, probably, for their playoff chances. They are too inexperienced at quarterback to take that extra step this year.

The Vikings do have an excellent defense as well, but I have to think that Shanahan will get his boys to put up some points in this home game. They may not light up the scoreboard but the Broncos have enough to get about a touchdown lead on the Vikings. The Vikings may not hit the board in this one.

The BetUS Minnesota Vikings.

I like the Broncos to beat the spread in this game.

The 2007 and beyond!
