NFL Week 11 Betting - Jets vs. Patriots Round 2
by Mike Rose

New York Jets vs. New England Patriots 4:15 ET
Revenge and redemption will be the themes of Sunday afternoon's crucial Week 11 NFL betting affair when the New England Patriots (6-3, 4-4-1 ATS). In the first meeting between these teams back in Week 2, the Jets shocked the Pats with an impressive 16-9 victory which appeared to shift the balance of power in the AFC East. However, since then, the Jets have dropped to 4-5, while the Pats have put together a bunch of dominant efforts to take a two-game lead in the division. A victory paired with a Miami loss could put the division away for good for New England, but a New York win will make things a lot more interesting in the final six weeks of the season.
BetUS.com customers will have their chance to take part in football betting with a line of New England (-10.5) and a 'total' of 45.
The rookie season for QB Mark Sanchez is starting to become a certified disaster. The USC product has thrown nine touchdowns against 12 interceptions on the season, and he hasn't looked nearly as comfortable in the pocket in recent weeks as he did in the first few games of the season. New York's only wins since that victory over the Pats in Week 2 came against Tennessee (who was winless at the time) and the lowly Raiders. If there's one thing that the Jets can do though, it's run the football. Even without the services of RB Leon Washington, both Shonn Greene and Thomas Jones are picking up the slack. Jones has rushed for 510 yards the L/4 weeks, while Greene was good for another 188 in the same span. As a result, New York ranks #1 in the league on the ground at 170.1 yards per game.
Let the questioning continue. HC Bill Belichick will never live down his decision to go for it on fourth down in Indianapolis territory with the game on the line on Sunday Night. But regardless of the fact that the Pats lost that game, they're still in fantastic shape and know that they can take the Colts out in the playoffs if that's what it comes down to. Coming into this game, QB Tom Brady is on fire. His numbers over his L/4 games closely resemble those from his '07 campaign when New England went 16-0 and he broke seemingly every record in the books. Brady has thrown for 1,395 yards and 13 TDs in his L/4 contests, which have resulted in a 3-1 record SU and a 2-1-1 record ATS for Pats' backers.
For whatever reason, the Jets seem to have the formula to knock off the Patriots. Pressure Brady, and good things will happen. No, New York probably won't hold New England to nine points again on Sunday, but there's a good chance that the Pats will struggle to reach the mid-20s. They probably won't win it, but the Jets are the side to take with double digits on your side. New England is just 1-10 ATS in its L/11 games as a DD favorite.
Rose's Recommendation: 2* New York Jets
Rating Scale 1* - 5*
