NFL Week 13 Free Picks - New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills

Football Night in Canada – Bills and Jets Travel North to Toronto
If the Buffalo Bills ever migrate to Toronto, they’ll have to measure the success that they can have at the gate when the Rogers Centre hosts Buffalo Bills games. International outreach is certainly a focus of Roger Goodell and the league, and the team that makes the most sense is having the Bills migrate north to the financial center of Canada. If the Bills have been playing like they usually do, however, then Toronto fans might be dismayed at taking the extra garbage that the city of Buffalo has to offer.
Both the Jets and the Bills have distant playoff hopes this season. While we’ve come to expect perennial mediocrity and failure from the Bills, this season has been one of growing pains for rookie Dirty Sanchez who has fallen to 2-6 SU/ATS after opening the season undefeated after three games. Jets fans won’t find it any easier this year after going 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games despite being favorites in each of the games they lost against the betting line.

The Bills, on the flip side, have gone a healthy 4-2 ATS this season and are coming off a massive 31-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins. It’s extremely tough to measure whether the Bills’ domination on the Week 12 sports betting line is any indication that this once-touted offence have finally decided to pull their socks up.
Fred Jackson continues to be the only consistent part of the offence, chugging in 73-yards and two scores on the ground while Terrell Owens had another incredible game with 5 catches, 96 yards and a touchdown. If the Bills want to impress their potential home town, they need another big performance out of their struggling squad.

NFL Betting Line: NYJ -3 (37)
The Jets are 2-2 ATS when away from home, but that includes wins over Houston in Week 1 (where Matt Schaub looked downright terrible) and a visit to Raider Nation, which shouldn’t count at all. Then again, it’s not like Toronto is a home field advantage for the Bills but they have to take solace in the fact that the Jets are 1-3 SU/ATS in the past month with their only win coming off a typical Jake Delhomme game with three interceptions.
It’s not that I’m pioneering the Ryan Fitzpatrick bandwagon, but this guy is a career backup and knows his role. He’ll manage the offense and refuse to take risks, which is often why the Bills have found themselves in a position to win their last two games. On top of that, I prefer his delivery to Trent Edwards’, and it seems that the most dangerous weapon the field, Terrell Owens, does as well.
Dirty Sanchez, Jake Delhomme and Jay Cutler are three quarterbacks on my “do not trust” list and it’s for that reason alone that I’m taking the Bills with the points. Sanchez may enjoy the warmth of finally playing in a closed dome, but the Bills’ home passing defense is surprisingly good with just 179.8 yards allowed, ranking them sixth in the league. This won’t be a barn burner, but it will be a game where the Bills gut out another win and play the roll of “spoiler” to the Jets’ lingering playoff hopes.
NFL Furious Free Pick: Buffalo +3 (UNDER)
