NFL Week 13 Sunday Betting Recap

Bookmark and Share by Matthew

More upsets and unpredictable results, what a shocker- not. Money line bettors are getting scorched on the big favorites this season and Week 13 was no different. Watching the Titans knock off the Colts had to be painful for a few bettors out there. However, if you were a spread underdog bettor, you had your moments. Overall, another exciting weekend for NFL wagering.

Cardinals 34 Rams 20

A balanced attack with a 100-yard rusher, three interceptions and four sacks on defense, and a smart game from their quarterback. Yep, I am actually talking about the Arizona Cardinals, who beat St. Louis for their first road win of the season. The over and road dog prevailed in a big way.

Falcons 24 Redskins 14

Atlanta decided to run, run and run some more. Guess what? It worked! The Falcons got back to .500 and into that playoff race once more. Washington is suffering through injuries and growing pains at QB. We saw the road team cover here.

Patriots 28 Lions 21

For most of this game, nervous money line bettors who had New England were sweating more than Roseanne with a fur coat in a sauna. But eventually, Tom Brady pulled it out. Detroit covered as a road dog.

Titans 20 Colts 17

Sometimes you just know when a team has a good beat on another team. That’s definitely the case here, as Tennessee was a great home dog that won outright! The under also worked out for bettors.

Browns 31 Chiefs 28 (OT)

The Browns apparently haven’t mailed it in completely just yet. Meanwhile, I guess KC defense isn’t as strong as everyone thought it was. Another home dog covers while the over prevailing in this one.

Bears 23 Vikings 13

Depending on what you got this spread at, you either won or lost by a point or so. Minnesota managed to keep the Rex Grossman debate going by containing him, but the Chicago defense was just too much.

Jets 38 Packers 10

You can scratch off the Lambeau mystique as a factor to prepare for if you’re a team traveling to Green Bay. Not only did the road favorite cover, but they did so in impressive fashion. It was ugly.

Chargers 24 Bills 21

It must be painful to be a Buffalo fan. They do just enough to lose. However, they did cover as a home dog. LaDanian Tomlinson is the best player in the NFL right now, bar none.

Saints 34 49ers 10

Last week’s loss to St. Louis took the wind out of the San Fran defense’s sails. Reggie Bush ran all over the 49ers and now New Orleans looks playoff bound. The home favorite covered with the under prevailing as well.

Jaguars 24 Dolphins 10

Jacksonville was the spread/money line winner in this pick’em matchup. The Dolphins sorely miss Ronnie Brown and really dropped the ball here.

Texans 23 Raiders 14

Can someone explain to me how you win with minus net yards passing? Oh right, you play the Raiders! Houston was good bet as a road dog and Oakland continues to defy logic.

Cowboys 23 Giants 20

Who would have thought that Martin Gramatica would make such a difference right away? New York was valiant in their effort, but the healthier and better team won. The Giants did manage to cover the spread.

Steelers 20 Buccaneers 3

Pittsburgh is all about pride and that’s what happened here. Their pride was simply too much for a beleaguered Tampa team. The Steelers covered the big spread and the under held on for the win as well.

Seahawks 23 Broncos 20

Jay Cutler cost the Broncos a game, but who’s to say Plummer wouldn’t have? Seattle got a much needed road win as a road dog and now look to rev up their playoff run. Denver is in trouble.
