Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers 1:00 ET

Week 16 of the NFL sports betting season offers up an AFC north battle when the Baltimore Ravens (8-6, 8-6 ATS) invade Heinz Field to battle the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7, 4-10 ATS) in a pro football betting battle; kick-off is set for 1:00 ET and can be seen nationally on CBS.

Baltimore ended its three-game losing streak against Pittsburgh back in Week 12 when it scored a 20-17 OT victory. However, the Steelers have dominated this series ATS of winning three in a row coming into today’s crucial contest. The Ravens are 6-1 ATS the L/7 times they were installed a road underdog in the 0.5 to 3-point range, and the underdog has cashed 4 of the L/5 meetings in this division rivalry. The Steelers have failed to cover each of their L/3 games and have been one of the worse teams for pointspread bettors in ’09 going just 4-10 ATS on the year.

Weather: Mostly cloudy 40% chance of   snow showers; lows around 20 with highs in the upper 20s.

Baltimore entered this Week 16 pro football betting match-up with the Steelers holding down one of the two available AFC Wild Card slots, while PIT needs to win out and hope to win some tiebreakers in hopes of defending its Super bowl Crown.

After the Ravens forced a punt on the Steelers initial possession of the game, they got on the board quick when RB Ray Rice scampered 61-yards to the house to get the visitors on the board first. BAL held a 7-0 lead after one, but PIT was driving as the 1 st quarter came to a close.

QB Ben Roethlisberger tied the game up when he plunged into the EZ from 3-yards out, and the defending champs took a TD lead on their next possession when Big Ben connected with WR Heinz Ward from 8-yards out just after the two minute warning. PIT took a 14-7 lead with it into the locker room at the break.

The Steelers defense forced a punt on the Ravens opening drive of the 2 nd half, and then built upon its lead when RB Rashard Mendenhall brushed off a bunch of arm tackles and darted his way into the EZ from 13-yards out. BAL cut the lead to six on a pair of K Billy Cundiff FG’s and trailed 21-13 going into the final 15 minutes of regulation.

The Steelers tacked on to its lead when WR Santonio Holmes came down with an acrobatic grab in the EZ from 26-yards out, and then extended the lead to 18 after a QB Joe Flacco INT with another FG.

Baltimore surprisingly settled for a FG on their very next drive, but wasn’t able to anything after that and Pittsburgh came up with the must have home win and cover to keep their post-season dreams alive.
