NFL Week 8 Picks: UPSET PARADE

Bookmark and Share by Al Simmons

Brett Favre is coming back home… as an enemy; it just doesn’t get much better than this. Sports betting fans should be thrilled because this is the game of the year as Favre and the Vikings visit Lambeau field this week to take on the Packers.

And with 3 teams left undefeated (Saints, Colts, Broncos) will any of them continue this streak after touch matchups this weekend?

NFL Betting fans here are my NFL Week 9 Picks:

Denver 6-0 (Road: 3-0) 1:00pm ET
Baltimore 3-3 (Home: 2-1) TV: CBS

Everybody is waiting to see when the Broncos will drop their first game of the year; Baltimore seems like a tough place to win. But if you want to cash in big pick Denver, with a great defense and a QB who can manage the game the Broncos will prove once again they are for real.

Denver Broncos +3
Baltimore Ravens -3
O /U 41

My pick: Upset by Broncos.

Houston 4-3 (Road: 2-1) 1:00pm ET

Buffalo 3-4 (Home: 1-2) TV: CBS

Houston will try to keep their momentum going but I’m not sure they can beat Buffalo’s secondary which intercepted Jake Delhomme 3 times last week. Steve Slaton will look to have another big game as he will face one of the worst rushing defenses in the league. However I like the Bills in this one, Evans is coming back to his form and he is finding the end zone.

Houston Texans -3
Buffalo Bills -3
O /U 41

My pick: Upset by the Bills.

Seattle 2-4 (Road: 0-2) 1:00pm ET

Dallas 4-2 (Home: 2-1) TV: FOX

Both teams have good offense and not much of a defense so expect a high scoring game. Julius Jones is coming back to Dallas, but I am not sure how effective he will be since he isn’t a very good RB.

Seattle Seahawks +9
Dallas Cowboys -9
O /U 46

My pick: Dallas won’t cover the spread.

San Francisco 3-3 (Road: 1-2) 1:00pm ET

Indianapolis 6-0 (Home: 2-0) TV: FOX

Colts will continue their undefeated streak. Freeny and Sanders will terrorize Alex Smith.

San Francisco 49ers +12
Indianapolis Colts -12
O /U 44

My pick: Indy will cover the spread.

Miami 2-4 (Road: 0-2) 1:00pm ET

NY Jets 4-3 (Home: 2-1) TV: CBS

The Dolphins are a solid team; Miami’s wildcat offense can’t be stopped. Keep in mind the Jets are in the top 10 for worst rushing defense in the league and this one could get ugly. Miami had been beaten by top QB and offenses like Indy and New Orleans, but the Jets aren’t the Colts or the Saints.

Miami Dolphins +3
New York Jets -3
O /U 40

My pick: Upset by the Dolphins

NY Giants 5-2 (Road: 3-1) 1:00pm ET

Philadelphia 4-2 (Home: 2-1) TV: FOX

Great rivalry game between two really good teams. Eli and the Giants shouldn’t drop 3 in a row, but if they do then there is something seriously wrong with Eli’s foot.

NY Giants pk
Philadelphia Eagles pk
O /U 44

My pick: Giants by a field goal.

Minnesota 6-1 (Road: 3-1) 4:15pm ET

Green Bay 4-2 (Home: 2-1) TV: FOX

Here is the Game of the Year. What bigger story than Brett Favre returning home in enemy colors?

The Vikings are a better team and the Green Bay offensive line won’t hold the blitz by the Vikings. Expect Favre to have a big game.

Minnesota Vikings +3
Green Bay Packers -3
O /U 47

My pick: Upset by the Vikings.

Carolina 2-4 (Road: 1-2) 4:15pm ET

Arizona 4-2 (Home: 1-2) TV: FOX

Delhomme is still taking snaps with the 1st string offense, so Carolina doesn’t have a prayer as Arizona’s run defense is too good.

Carolina Panthers +10
Arizona Cardinals -10
O /U 41

My pick: Cardinals will cover the spread.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Atlanta 4-2 (Road: 1-2) 8:30pm ET
New Orleans 6-0 (Home: 3-0) TV: ESPN

I don’t think there is a team in the NFL that could beat the Saints.

Atlanta Falcons +10
New Orleans Saints -10
O /U 54

My pick: the Saints won’t cover the spread.
