Week 11 of the NFL online sports betting season concludes on Monday night when the Tennessee Titans (3-6, 4-5 ATS) invade Reliant Stadium to crack skulls with the division rival Houston Texans (5-4, 5-3-1 ATS) in an AFC South pro football betting battle; kick-off is set for 8:30 ET and can be seen nationally on ESPN.

The Texans scored a 34-31 road win and cover as 7-point underdogs in these teams first meeting of the year way back in Week 2. After dropping seven in a row to the Titans, the Texans have taken each of the L/2 meetings. The SU winner of this rivalry has gone 10-3 ATS, and the over has been the way to go as it’s cashed in 9 of their 12 overall meetings.

TENNESSEE 7 10 10 0 27
HOUSTON 14 7 0 10 31

This one was a barnburner from the get go! After suffering through last week’s MNF game between the Ravens and Browns, this came as a welcome surprise to MNF betting enthusiasts. The games scoring began when QN Matt Schaub hooked up with WR Jacoby Jones on a little dump off screen that the athletic Jones turned into a 44-yard TD saunter. After the Texans defense stonewalled the Titans on their first three plays from scrimmage, the special teams set the offense up nicely after a 43-yard punt return that set the “O” up 1st and 10 from Tennessee’s 29-yard line.

RB Steve Slaton put the Texans up 14-0 when he took a shovel pass up the gut 16-yards to pay dirt. HC Jeff Fisher got in his team’s grills throughout the entirety of the commercial break, and his special teams responded by returning the kick 97-yards to cut the lead in half.

Houston looked well on its way to blowing this one wide open when WR Andre Johnson hauled in Schaub’s third TD pass of the game five minutes into the second quarter, but the Titans responded with a 9-play 82 yard drive that was capped off with a spectacular dash to the end zone by RB Chris Johnson from 23-yards out. The Titz “D” held serve for the first time in the game on the Texans next possession, and cut the lead to four-points right before the break on a 45-yarder from K Rob Bironas.

The 3rd quarter was all Tennessee’s as they outscored the Texans 10-0 on another Johnson TD run and Bironas FG. Unfortunately, they got blanked in the 4th quarter which ultimately saw their three-game winning streak get snapped at the hands of the Texans. Schaub threw yet another tuddy!

There was 1200 yards of combined yardage churned out in this one by both teams. Both QBs Vince Young and Matt Schaub shined, but Schaub’s 4 TD passes were just too much for the Titans to overcome even though they got another fantastic output from RB Chris Johnson (19 rushes for 122 yards and 2 TDs). With the win, the Texans have taken one step closer towards qualifying for the post-season for the first time in franchise history.
