Philadelphia Eagles (6-7) vs. Los Angeles Rams (11-2)
Sunday, December 16th - 8:20pm ET - Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
Betting Line: Los Angeles -9, Total 53.5

Week 15 in the NFL brings football betting fans a Sunday Night Football matchup between the NFC-leading Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles. L.A. was the first team to clinch their division for a guaranteed spot in the NFL Playoffs. Philadelphia is still in the hunt, however their overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys and their remaining schedule makes for a tough road ahead.

Both teams are coming off a loss. Los Angeles look to bounce back from just their second loss of the season. Every win matters for L.A. They're in a race against the 11-2 New Orleans Saints to see who gets home field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs.

Philadelphia took flight to Dallas to take on the Dallas Cowboys in what could have been a pivotal win for the Eagles. Instead, Philly took an L in overtime after a deflected pass lead Amari Cooper to the end zone the third time that day.

A lot went wrong for Philadelphia; it wasn't just the refs. On offense, the Eagles failed to score in the first half. They struggled to move the ball through the air and the ground game was non-existent. The Eagles rushed the ball 14 times for a total of 34 yards.

Quarterback Carson Wentz was a bright spot for this offense. He completed 69% of his passes for 228 yards and three touchdowns. He also lost a fumble that led to a Dallas field goal with a minute remaining in the first half.

It's no secret that the Eagles have been decimated by injuries all season, particularly in the running game and the secondary. It's no surprise this is where they're weakest. On Sunday, they lost another running back. Corey Clement left the game after just one carry with a knee injury. As a result, the Eagles are expected to sign rookie running back Boston Scott from New Orleans' practice squad. Scott, who ran for 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior in Louisiana Tech was the shortest player selected in the 2018 NFL Draft. The addition of Scott to the crippled run game will make little difference against an L.A. team that can score at will.

The Rams rolled to Soldier Field in Week 14 to take on the NFC North-leading Bears. It took a four interceptions from Jared Goff (career-high) and a 28-yard rushing game from Todd Gurley (lowest since 2015) for the Rams to lose the game.

Philadelphia is no Chicago. The Eagles are notorious for allowing big runs and even bigger passes. If there's anything this Rams team can do on offense, it's pick up big yardage through the air and the ground.

Los Angeles is a perfect 6-0 at home this season. Philadelphia is 2-4 on the road. The Eagles' only win over teams above .500 this season was a Week 3 victory over the Colts, who lost three straight after that game.

Philadelphia struggles late in the season. They're just 7-8 straight up in December since the 2015 season. They covered the spread in just six of those games. Philly is just 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games.

L.A., despite having a +112 point differential on the season, have been in a lot of close games. Their last four home games have been decided by seven points or fewer, making them 0-2-2 against the spread in that span.

This is a must-win game for the Eagles. I don't think they win this one. I'm not convinced they can keep it close against due to their issues in the secondary and their propensity to give up big runs. L.A. wins this one in a landslide and knocks Philadelphia out of the playoffs.
