In case you haven’t heard, Championship Sunday is almost here and there are a ton of betting options for all you NFL sharps.

You can get in on straight game action or you can make things interesting on the prop bets that are offered for Championship weekend. For me, the prop bets are the most fun, and can be the most lucrative as well. Below are my favorite prop bets for the Jets vs. Colts game .

BetUS NFL line for the AFC Championship:

AFC Championship Game

Sunday, January 24 th

3pm EST

New York Jets +7 ½ (-110) +290

Indianapolis Colts -7 ½ (-110) -350

O/U – 39

First to Score

You can get action on the first team to score which is +150 for the Jets and -180 for the Indianapolis Colts right now. You have to think that this is almost a lock. The Jets have started slow in both playoff games and you know that the pressure has been building steadily on Mark Sanchez as the nations eyes lock firmly on the rookie QB.

The Colts will be keying in on the run and will force a quick punt if the Jets get the ball first. I see Indy at least punching a field goal in, if not a touchdown, before the Jets even get a first down.

The Bet: Indianapolis Colts (-180)

Highest Scoring Quarter

I’m going to take the first quarter right out of the equation. The New York Jets defense is going to be fired up, and although I respect Peyton Manning’s ability, I think it will take him some time to find the holes in this team. They’ll for sure score first, but they’re going to have to work for it early.

Sanchez isn’t going to get a chance to throw the ball all that much in the first quarter as Rex Ryan will want to his rookie QB to get the nerves out, which are always highest right after kick off. That means a steady diet of Thomas Jones and Shonn Greene, who are both great backs, but with extra guys in the box, they won’t have much room to run.

That all adds up to a quiet first quarter, and most likely a slow second quarter as well. The bet I really like is the third quarter because both teams get to regroup and try to dial up some plays early after getting a good look at the holes in the opposing defense.

That bet just happens to be the most lucrative as well, so if you’re on the same train of thought as me, jump on the 3 rd quarter bet and don’t look back.

The Bet: 3 rd Quarter (+300)
