How many wins for the Jets?
For most teams, adding a 38-year-old quarterback to the roster wouldn’t be seen as a move that could improve their chances of winning. However, Brett Favre isn’t your average 38-year-old quarterback.
The addition of Favre has already given the Jets a boost on every odds list on which the team appears, including their regular season wins total. Will this give NFL betting fans a chance to take advantage of a Jets team that still isn’t that good, or will Favre be just what New York needs to get back to respectability?
Last season the Jets had a horrible season and finished 4-12. The only reason they even won that many games was because they got to play the even-worse NFL odds.
To go over that total the Jets will have to somehow win at least five more games this year than they did last season. Judging by how their upcoming schedule looks on paper that may be hard to do. New York has what appears to be two easy wins against the Dolphins again, and they also get to take on Buffalo (who they play twice). None of those teams finished above .500 last season, but they could have come close if not for injuries and some bad luck.
If the Jets were to win more than 8.5 games that could possibly be enough for them to slip into the playoffs. Going from 4-12 to a playoff spot looks pretty improbable, but so did Favre wearing a Jets jersey a few months ago.
