Jeremy Roenick
Look Out Hollywood!
The Philadelphia Flyers made a bold move in the wake of their acquisition of All-World center Peter Forsberg and traded Boston-born winger Jeremy Roenick to the Los Angeles Kings.

Roenick was scheduled to earn $5 million dollars this season and a trade away from the Flyers was imminent according to Philadelphia General Manager Bobby Clarke.

“Once we signed Peter, we knew we had to make a trade,” said Clarke.

The Kings get Roenick and a third-round draft pick in 2006 from Philadelphia. The Flyers had acquired the pick from the Nashville Predators. Philadelphia gets future considerations and, most importantly, room under the new salary cap to sign free agent Peter Forsberg.

JR is a surprisingly good fit for the LA Kings as his long hair and outspoken personality will go a long way towards bringing the fans back into the seats in Los Angeles. The American-born winger will be the most marquee player that the Kings have had since Wayne Gretzky.

And as Roenick gets older he says that he is becoming more and more serious about pursuing an acting career that should be easier for him now. The return of hockey to the ideology of  big-time Hollywood is just the dimension that Roenick can bring back to the game and that would transcend anything he would do on the ice.
