While Boston did win their first game in impressive fashion after the Joe Thornton trade, look for a letdown here. The Bruins are only 3-7 on the road and must go into one of the most hostile environments in the league in Colorado. Captain Joe Sakic should have the Avs geared up for this one. Stars over the Panthers

Yes, it's a lot of money to lay here, but Dallas has been gold for us so far this season when picking them in this column. The Stars are 9-5-1 at home and Florida is 2-9-3 on the road. Any more questions? Dallas is also 8-2 in their last 10 games. Take the Stars on the money line.

Capitals over Predators Washington is a last place team that has struggled at times this season. However, most of their troubles have come on the road, as they have a winning record at home. Meanwhile, the Preds have played the bulk of their games at home, and now must get used to life on the road. The Caps are young, but they're hungry. Against a smaller team like Nashville, take the Capitals on the money line.
