Nov. 9 Hockey picks

Since hockey has become a part of the main betting stream again, I figured it was time to show off my pick prowess and throw out my selections for tonight's action. I am not a handicapper, only an astute Canadian puck writer with a curved stick. So, without further ado, here are my choices for tonight. Bet them or don't, whatever, they're just picks I think will win outright.

St. Louis @ Columbus, under 6

These two teams are bringing up the rear in the league. The Blues do not have one bonified offensive threat right now and the Blue Jackets are missing a couple of theirs due to injury. As well, the goaltending is really not that bad here, so go for the under.

Pittsburgh over Atlanta

The Penguins have finally found their form. Sure, they give up a bunch of goals. But, they also score a lot. The Pens now have four wins on the year and they do have five losses after regulation time. In other words, they were in most games when they were playing badly. Now, the hockey has been better for them and they are up against a terrible defensive club. Take Pittsburgh to outscore the Thrashers.

Carolina over Buffalo

Talk about kicking a dog when it is down. The Sabres are on a losing streak and are missing their top goalie. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes have the league's leading points getter in Eric Staal and have only lost twice. Look for the Canes to slug out a close one.
