Good day online sports betting brethrens. If you've been following my NHL betting leads thus far into the young season, you're counting money with my first three selections producing a money-making hat trick.

Tonight we'll try to build our Phoenix (2-3-0) matchup, starting at 10:00pm EST. This will be the first meeting between the Capitals and Coyotes since Jan. 1, 2007, when Phoenix won 3-2 at the nation's capital. The road team has won each of the last five games in this series.

The Coyotes are coming off a 4-1 loss to Calgary on Tuesday. It's worth mentioning, Washington's only goal scored on Tuesday came off the stick of Sergei Fedorov, who tied Alexander Mogilny for most career NHL goals by a Russian native with 473.

Key NHL Wagering Trends:

- Coyotes are 2-6 in their last 8 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game.

- Capitals are 4-1 in their last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game.

- Coyotes are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference.

- Capitals are 8-2 in their last 10 vs. Western Conference.

- Coyotes are 4-12 in their last 16 overall.

- Capitals are 17-8 in their last 25 overall.

On Tuesday, the Caps went 0-for-5 on the power play in the loss, and are 1-for-17 (5.9 percent) in their last three games. The Coyotes are struggling just to earn a man advantage. Phoenix is averaging just 2.40 goals per game, and getting only two power-play chances in its last two contests hasn’t helped. One goal is all the Coyotes has been able score in two of its last three games, all losses.

The 2007-08 Hart Trophy winner Alexander Ovechkin has not scored a goal for the Caps in his last four games. He has only two on the season, both which came in a 4-2 home victory over Chicago on Oct. 11. Despite his struggles, Washington is scoring a respectable 3.45 goals per game.

The over has prevailed in the Capitals last five games overall. As well, the over is 5-0 in the Capitals last five roadies, and when Washington and Phoenix meet in the desert the over is 5-1 in the last six matchups. BetUS NHL odds list both clubs at -110 on the money-line with a game total of 5½ -130. Despite the Coyotes scoring woes, I still see this one going over.
