Free NHL Picks – Sharks vs. Wild

The Minnesota on the road as underdogs. When favored, Minnesota is 23-11, while San Jose has been 6-7 as dogs this season. With captain Patrick Marleau held out of action for the Sharks, will they have enough bite to take on the Wild?

The Sharks finally got their act back together against Dallas, shutting down the Stars in a 4-0 victory. This, however, was on the heels of four straight losses to Western Conference playoff contenders. Steadily, the Sharks stout defensive rankings have fallen in the process. They have regressed to sixth overall in road defense, while their overall scoring offense has plummeted to fourteenth.

The Wild, despite their lack of trade deadline deals, have been a steady contender in the West and are coming off a strong showing on their current road trip. They went 1-3, but only lost to Calgary by a single goal each. A strong reason for that has been their penalty killing, which has been 100% in their last five games.

The Wild are an unrelenting team at home, and will be able to handle the Sharks muddled offense. Bill Guerin is still trying to find his stride in the San Jose, and they are without their number one goalie in Vesa Toskala (day-to-day with groin injury).

Look for the Wild and Marion Gaborik to bully the Sharks and continue on with their stellar record as favorites.
