Ice Hockey Betting Round Up - Can Tampa Bay Rally in tonight’s NHL Betting Board?

ATLANTA THRASHERS

The Rangers are 7-2 SU in their last 9 games against Atlanta and the only team that Atlanta has managed to defeat in recent memory is the retarded step-cousin of the Rangers, the New York Islanders. Next!

NEW JERSEY DEVILS

Now here’s a matchup the betting man can sink his teeth in to! Pittsburgh is just 2-4 SU in their last 6 games, but is just the opposite in their last 6 meetings with the boys from Jersey. Sidney Crosby and Malkin have won 4-of-6 of those run-ins with the upstart Devils. Though Jersey is riding a 7-1 SU winning streak, they haven’t faced a team with the deft scoring, and blinding speed, of Pittsburgh in a few weeks. The talent of Pittsburgh will come as a surprise.

BUFFALO SABRES

Three road teams in a row? You bet your ass! I’m fully aware that Tampa is coming off a five game losing skid and is winless in their last five games on the road. They’re also 1-6 SU in their last 7 games on the road. So why do I expect a win? Because Barry Melrose’s mouth displays the idiocy that has put Tampa in this turbulent spot in the first place. Their former coach, who only had 16 games to prove his mettle, disappointed the Tampa brass and the Lightning NHL betting season. After he blasted the team, rookie Steve Stamkos, and the franchise in a radio show this past week, I expect the talented Tampa team to rally behind those bulletin board remarks and prove that they aren’t the NHL’s punching bag.

WASHINGTON CAPITALS

Screw it. Let’s make it four road teams in a row. The Bruins have instilled so much faith in their blind betting faithful that it makes it impossible to grade against them for the time being. They’re undefeated in their last five games, and have dropped just one game in their last five roadies. I’ve always backed Washington as a strong home bet, but the Bruins are impossible to bet against until further notice.

Calgary Flames

The Wings remain one of the most impossible teams to beat at home, and Calgary is coming off a 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens last night. This game has “blowout” written all over it.

Ottawa Senators

Will the real Ottawa Senators please stand up? The funny thing about hockey is that a bad move one day can haunt you for years. For the Senators, it was their choice to let Zdeno Chara walk in favor of Wade Redden. The entire top line for the Senators, their morbid defense, and their hilariously bad goal tending have all led to a dismal season. Look for the upstart Blackhawks to jump at the chance to feast on this dying Eastern Conference dynasty.

Phoenix Coyotes

I was really hopeful for the Coyotes heading in to this season. But away from home, they just can’t get their act together. Dallas is 3-2 SU in their last 5 games, while Phoenix is coming off two brutal road losses to St. Louis and Chicago. This is an open and shut case of a scrambling bunch of lumberjacks being out skated and out executed by a talented Dallas team exuding chemistry.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues have gone 4-2 SU in their last 6 games, showing all the streaking pluckiness of an upset team in the making. But being riddled by injuries to Dan Hionte, Erik Johnson, Andy McDonald and Paul Kariya has crippled this hopeful squad. The Ducks have gone 4-1 SU in their last 5 games at home and are 6-1 SU in their last 7 at home when playing St. Louis. Any more questions?
