New York Rangers (+155) vs. Washington Capitals (-175)

The young Rangers have shown a ton of grit and tenacity despite having a blue-line comprised of guys that aren’t legally allowed to drink in Manhatten. With a 3.33 goals for average, and just 2.33 goals against, the Rangers are showing some punch as upset specialists. Unfortunately for them, they’ll be put to a grinding test against the Washington Capitals.

Never bet against Washington at home. They’re 5-2 SU in their last 7 games at home, and are 4-1 SU in their last 5 against the New York Rangers. Alexander Ovechkin already looks better than last year, but a lot of that has to do with how much the team around him has improved. The Caps have averaged 5.0 goals for in three games, and there’s no reason to take a team running on established chemistry when they’re playing a team just building theirs.

Furious Free Pick: Washington -175

Anaheim Ducks (+155) vs. Boston Bruins (-175)

The Ducks are off to a grizzly start, and are slugging around a 1-5 SU record in their past 6 games. With the Boston Bruins as strong as ever at home, with a hefty 10-3 SU record at home in their pocket, it’s hard to imagine a West coast team like Anaheim doing some damage to the steady Bruins.

The bruins have a +2.0 goal differential thus far. The Ducks have the exact opposite. On the road in Boston, Anaheim Ducks doesn’t have much of a chance so play this one smart.

Furious Free Pick: Boston -175

Pittsburgh Penguins (+125) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (-145)

For the Flyers to prove their fans that they can be effective in the playoffs, they’ll have to vanquish the visiting Stanley Cup Champions. Philly has shot out to a nice start, going 3-0 SU, and averaging 4.33 goals for, while allowing just 2.33 against. Chris Pronger has been a stalwart on the blue line, and it’s really just down right adorable when you see him and 5-foot-9 Daniel Briere celebrate a top-line goal.

But Philadelphia Flyers proves it is worthy of sharing the ice with The Champs, this one is Pittsburgh’s to lose.

Furious Free Pick: Pittsburgh +125
