NHL Eastern Conference Free Picks – Rangers Rollin’
by Tim Furious

New York Rangers (5-0-0)
The Rangers are off to one of the best starts in club history, and have to keep the momentum going against the undefeated Buffalo Sbares tonight. Without Jaromir Jagr, the Rangers are chipping in 3.20 goals per game and holding teams to a ridiculous 1.60 goals against. Anytime you average double the goals your opponents average, it’s a good thing.
Buffalo is coming off a crushing 7-1 victory over the Islanders and are getting the most out of Ryan Miller, who has let in only two goals in two games. He will face his stiffest challenge against the Rangers this season. The other problem is that the Rangers are five games deep in to the season and are leaving no doubt that they are ready to whallop the Sabres. Having won the last four games against Buffalo Sabres should convince you to ride this hockey betting train to profit.
NHL Free Pick: New York Rangers -145 (OVER)
Montreal Canadiens (2-0-1)
The last time these two teams met, they went to the grindstone in a seven-game thriller in the last NHL playoffs. Now they’re in the regular season, where Boston hasn’t seemed to figure out Montreal in years. The Canadians have one overtime loss on record, but are coming off two dominating victories where they outscored Toronto for a total of 11-4.
Boston is far better than they used to be, but a 4-3 loss to a thin Minnesota team should be enough evidence for you to keep your betting dollars away from them for the meantime. This is Montreal’s home opener too, so the energy will be there. Don’t get caught under the bus as the Habs roll through to victory.
NHL Free Pick: Montreal -175 (OVER)
