In what could very well be a playoff preview, the Stars will visit the Ducks on Friday night, hoping to extend their two-game winning streak. Anaheim, meanwhile, will be looking to spread their wings and end a two-game losing streak.

Dallas continues to be the best defensive road team in the NHL. Their discipline and work ethic are paying off, and they are proving that they can shut down offenses in a pinch when they get a single-point lead. Shutting down Teemu Selanne will be priority one, as the Finish Flash is the Ducks only real scoring threat.

Chris Pronger of the Ducks remains out with a broken toe, and his absence has been the main reason for their recent slide. Over the past week, they lost three games to teams eliminated from the playoffs (Columbus). There is no reason to believe that the Ducks’ sixth-ranked offense and third-ranked power play unit will be able to find room to soar against a stingy and disciplined Stars defense.

Bet on Dallas to shut down the Ducks and extend Anaheim to a three-game losing streak. Anaheim is simply not the same team without Chris Pronger.
