Let’s just say that I should just stick to picking only the spread. After two days, my record for the point spread stands at 12-2. Meanwhile, my over/under is at 7-7. But, I’ll still offer both picks for you. Here we go again…
All lines will be courtesy of BetUS of course and the lines will be as of the time I’m writing this, so of course, check them out before you decide to bet. The teams will be shown with their lines for the spread and the over/under figure.
Minnesota (-1.5, +200) at Columbus (+1.5, -240) (Over/Under 5.5)
With both teams struggling and Minnesota suffering a few injuries right now, it’s hard to believe that Minnesota would win this game by two goals on the road. Columbus is also coming off their first win of the year against undefeated Nashville. Look for them to make it two wins in a row and an over here as well.
Philadelphia (-1.5, +220) at Carolina (+1.5, -260) (Over/Under 6)
Carolina has won all 4 of their games at home this year, so to put them as the underdog seems like a steal. Take the over here as well as both teams are putting up goals. Philly is also giving up a few on the penalty kill, including a three-spot on Thursday against Florida.
Buffalo (+1.5, -260) at New Jersey (-1.5, +220) (Over/Under 6)
Let me get this straight…Buffalo has a better record than New Jersey…New Jersey is starting a backup goaltender…New Jersey has given up 10 goals in their last 2 games, and New Jersey is the favourite? OK…the choice is Buffalo for the spread. Take the over since Buffalo could possibly put the 6 up by themselves.
Washington (+1.5, +105) at Tampa Bay (-1.5, -125) (Over/Under 6)
With that 6-3 win against New Jersey, I think Tampa finally found their rhythm as a team and now, the rest of the NHL better watch out. Unfortunately, Washington will be victim No. 1. Take the over as both teams are capable of netting 6 in this game.
Edmonton (+1.5, -190) at Dallas (-1.5, +170) (Over/Under 6)
This one was a tough one to decide only because as the bettor, you have to decide on whether or not Edmonton finally wins a game, or at least makes it close. However, a big game at home for Dallas is probably not the spot you want to take that gamble on. Take Dallas on the spread and look for an over here.
Quick Picks
1) The return of J.S. Giguere in net rejuvenated Anaheim to a decisive win against Calgary on Wednesday. Expect the same against the Blues and take the under.
2) With Jason LaBarbera in net for L.A., the Kings play with an added sense of confidence. With all the goalie injuries in San Jose right now, the Sharks aren’t close to 100% confident. L.A. wins going away. Take the under here as well.
Good luck!!
