Johnnie Cochrane

Johnnie L. Cochran Jr., legal superstar best known for clearing O.J. Simpson during the most sensational murder trial in recent years, died Tuesday at age 67.

Cochran died of a brain tumor at his home in Los Angeles.

Simpson said of Cochran’s death, "I don't think I'd be home today without Johnnie. I don't think there's a lawyer in the world that could have run that ball. I was innocent, but he believed it."

Over the years, Cochran represented football great Jim Brown on rape and assault charges, actor Todd Bridges on attempted murder charges, rapper Tupac Shakur on a weapons charge and rapper Snoop Dogg on a murder charge. It’s a sad day for (accused) celebrity criminals all over the world.
