Gary Joe Kinne, Canton High School football coach and athletic director, was shot by a player's father and was critically injured April 7. The high school football coach has been upgraded to fair from serious condition.
Robertson, whose son played freshman football, had several confrontations with students and coaches. He had been banned from school property at the time Kinne was shot.
Robertson was arrested a few hours after the shooting in woods outside town.
He had two guns and a pocket knife with him.
Prosecutor Leslie Poynter Dixon has said that Jeffrey Robertson, the angry father accused of shooting Kinne, could face life in prison if convicted of a first-degree felony assault charge.
Ladies and gentlemen, what’s going on here? It’s only high school football. Hello?! HIGH SCHOOL. You don’t hear anything about miniature golf attacks, do you? Let’s stop the violence; after all, it’s only a game.
