Dear Bookie,
Apart from betting on who’s going to win the actual game, there is something they call the under/over. What is that and how do I win?

Hey D.
The over/under (not the under/over) is a proposition bet which allows the bettor to make a separate wager that does not rely on selecting the winner of the game. Instead, the player selects what the total number of goals, points or runs will be and then, according to the number that the bookie has set as the probable total (the line) for that contest, must decide whether the actual number will be higher(over) or lower(under) that selected number. It is a 50/50 selection and the odds are usually even. By betting the over/under instead of the game’s outcome basically you are betting whether you think the game will be an offensive shootout or a defensive affair.
