What is the point of a ‘Parlay Bet’ and how is it different from a regular bet? Also what are two-way or three-way parlays?

Dear Steve,
A ‘Parlay Bet’ is a bet whereby the player takes two, three or more games all in the same bet, at odds calculated to pay proportionally should the bettor win all of the games selected. The more games selected, the higher the potential payout will be.
A ‘two-way’, ‘three-way’ or more ‘parlay’ simply refers to the number of games involved in the bet and is usually an indicator of high how the payout will be: the more games taken, the higher the payout. The advantage of the parlay bet is that it allows the bettor to receive a high return for a relatively low investment.
