The 2018 Winter Olympics have arrived to South Korea for the second time in the country's history. Their previous hosting duties took place back in 1998. There are 92 nations participating in this year's Games with nearly 3,000 athletes participating. A total of 102 events will take place from February 9th to February 25th.

The last time we saw Winter Olympics was in 2014 in Sochi. Beijing will host the next Olympic Games in 2022. Toyko will host Summer Olympics in 2020. The competition schedule for the 2018 Winter Olympics can be found here:

One of the most exciting Winter Olympic Events is the 2 man Bobsleigh. This should be a great race, and certainly attract a a lot viewers. Who is going to take down the gold is the biggest question.  The favorite to win the event if Francesco Friedrich at +185, but the guy I like to take down the gold medal is Justin Kripps. Kripps is listed at +225. The next three listed are Nico Walther, Johannes Lochner and Chris Spring. They are listed +450, +550 and +850 respectively.

One of the most amazing events at the Winter Olympics is the Biathlon. The endurange it takes to complete this event is incredible. This takes awhile, but very interesting to follow. It's a two man race for the favorite here. Martin Fourcade and Johannes Boe are both listed at -115. We are going to go outside of the box and take one of the underdogs - Simon Schempp at +2000 to come away with one of the biggest upsets in the Winter Olympics.

The most popular event in every Winter Olympics is Men's Hockey. Now, keep in mind - this season the United States are not sending professionals to the games. That certainly puts them at a disadvantage as the oddsmakers have noticed. Team USA is paying +1200 to win Gold in this event.

The favorites - Russia are listed at +185, while Canada is listed at +300. You shouldn't expect many surprises here. Both of these teams will play in the final. I am, however, giving the Canadiens the nod here. I think they upset the Russians and +300 are enough to entice me to bet on them.

One thing we always hear discussed when talking about the Olympics is the overall medals won. The United States are always a top contender. In these Games they're third favorite. Norway leads the way at +140 while Germany is right behing them at +160. The United States come in third at +450. Never count out the red, white, and blue. Taking Team USA at +450 is a good value bet.
