They will hope Turf Moor will prove to be the charm to reverse their fortunes on their travels.

Soccer Betting Verdict: Not only are Burnley winning at home but also they are beating quality sides at the same time. Burnley opened the season at home to a shocking upset over Manchester United and followed up with wins over Everton, Sunderland and Birmingham City. Perhaps the victory over the Red Devils was the catalyst for home success. Whatever the reason it is nonetheless amazing and the promoted side deserves mad props for maintaining the run thus far.

Wigan Athletic are 14th in the table on ten points after nine cycles. After delivering a shocking win over Chelsea FC a fortnight ago, many thought Wigan would finally get their season on track.

Nothing doing, they lost their subsequent match at Hull City and drew 1:1 against Manchester City. The more concerning result of the two is the 2:1 loss to Hull City. How do you go and lose to a relegation side after beating the No.1 contenders for the league title? Mind blowing stuff really. That they took a point from their fixture against fifth placed Manchester City is a halfway recovery but not complete deliverance.

The market tips Burnley at +145 to win outright. The odds are conservative and only marginally short to Wigan, who are listed at +185. What the market cast, in effect, says: surely, Burnley cannot sustain this run for much longer. And the proximity of their odds suggests that Wigan just might be the side to take first points at Turf Moor on a draw.

For my part, I am not convinced Wigan is the outfit to be the first to share in the spoils or beat Burnley at home. I believe they are flattering to deceive and their win over Chelsea was a one-off, due more to Chelsea’s lackadaisical attitude than what Wigan did.
