Much has been made of the comprehensive 7:1 drumming in last season’s encounter between Manchester United at the Old Trafford. Now with Manchester United holding the edge, after beating the Italians 2:0 in the first leg at Stadio Olimpico last week, it is nothing short of déjà vu for Serie A hopefuls AS Roma as they head to the Old Trafford once again to receive what must be imminent elimination from the Champions League.

Analysis: At -140 on the money line, the Reds are the big favorites to advance into the final four. Taking on the Italians at home is a huge advantage for the Reds and with a two-goal lead, it is hard to imagine Manchester United losing by a two-goal margin.

Analysis: Roma missed their chance at home in the first leg and now with what must seem an insurmountable task before them, they are hugely disadvantaged on the money line at +400. Further going against the Italians is the absence of their captain Totti, who has been outstanding for the Italians in Champions League competition thus far and no doubt will be hugely missed.
Betting Verdict: Down by two-goals, the Italians have no choice but to attack, take the initiative from the onset of the match. They have to score early. However, as desperation and demoralization are the underlining emotions moving the Italians, I expect they could become vulnerable if they open up to much for Ronaldo and Rooney – both of them more than capable of taking advantage of any space on the field. As such, I cannot imagine a huge comeback to occur from the Italians tomorrow.
