Premier League Betting: Aston Villa vs. Chelsea
by Nila Amerova

Finally we are back to Premier League action after all the World Cup frenzy of last week and first up on domestic duty is Aston Villa against Chelsea. The Blues are back at the top of the Premier League table after beating Liverpool at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago and they will be looking to extend that lead at Villa Park on Saturday. The Villans meanwhile will be desperately hoping to get something out of this match after coming up with only one point in their last two fixtures and slipping to seventh place in the table.

Soccer Betting Verdict: Aston Villa are still trying to find their way this season after having had one of their worst starts to a league campaign in some time. They are seventh with a 4-1-2 mark in seven cycles, comprised of a 2-1-1 mark at home and a 2-0-1 mark on the road.
Martin O’Neill’s men are coming off a draw to Man City. Certainly, the Villans were looking for more than a point at Villa Park but they can only take what they get. Disappointing though it might be, there is an upside. They can take encouragement from their defence that has been playing exceptionally well lately, conceding only one goal in their last four matches.
Chelsea are full of confidence ahead of this match and apart from their hiccup against Wigan they have won all their matches. They are 7-0-1 in eight cycles for 21 points and top spot in the table. Only two points separate them from second placed Manchester United and Ancelotti’s men will be mindful of the Red Devils proximity as they look to beat Aston and further their lead.
It is obvious Chelsea is the better outfit in this matchup and the market is leaning towards the away win, listing the Blues at favourable -125 odds. However, I don’t think they will have it as easy as the bookies suggest. Aston Villa will be much more into this match than their +375 odds indicate. They have been solid in the back for the most part and they are very quick upfront. I wouldn’t be surprised if this match ended in a draw. Moreover, with the attacking potential both teams have this match could see lots of goals.
