English Premier League Tuesday Betting: Portsmouth vs. Birmingham City
by Nila Amerova

Portsmouth are after a victory at the weekend beating Burnley on the away 2:1. The win was only their fifth win on the season, second on the road. That they did it against a side that enjoys solid form at home should not be taken lightly. They are only the third club to visit Turf Moor and take all three points.
Portsmouth have a much tougher task ahead with Birmingham City visiting on Tuesday. Birmingham City clawed their way into the top ten on the back of solid home form and modest away results. Recently though Birmingham have let their road record slip with three consecutive losses against Chelsea, West Ham United and Fulham. Birmingham are full of confidence though, secure in the fact they will most likely enjoy a second-consecutive top-flight appearance next season. They have everything to hope for against a down-in-the-dumps Portsmouth.

Soccer Betting Verdict: Portsmouth are at the bottom of the table, with 19 points after 27 cycles. It is a six-point climb, and escalating, to safety. If they are to stage a miraculous comeback, a last push between now and the end of the season, they have to start winning matches and collecting maximum points in all their fixtures. They need the three points on offer.
Luckily, the bookies tip them at reasonable +130 odds to win outright over Birmingham City. Portsmouth backers can be encouraged by this price tag, the odds are significantly shorter to Birmingham, listed at +210. Recommending the play on Portsmouth is a half-decent home record 2-2-2 in the last six.
Birmingham have been impressive considering they were promoted this season. They are ninth in the table on 40 points after 27 cycles. They have been undefeated at home in forever and their road record was good before they lost to Chelsea and their subsequent two matches. AT +210, Birmingham are good bet, maybe the value bet, to bounce back on their travels.
The Over 2 -130 is the favoured outcome in the market and it is our recommended play. Birmingham have scored six goals in their last six away matches, an average of one goal a game. Portsmouth have scored eight goals in their last six home matches, an average of over 1 goal per match.
