The semifinal of the Pacific Life Open is upon us and, aside from Svetlana Kuznetsova, the second seed, the rest of the semifinalists are surprise contenders. With Li Na, Daniela Hantuchova and Sybille Bammer in the running, the Pacific Life Open title may very well be claimed any one of these unlikely ladies. So without further ado let us look at the tennis odds with BetUS.com for the semifinal head-to-heads.
Prediction: Tied at 1-1 in their head-to-heads Daniela Hantuchova and Li Na are evenly matched up. Both of these ladies were not expected to go deep into the tournament despite being seeded in the top 16.
Daniela Hantuchova is the favorite and at a price tag of -140 her value for the tennis bettor is decidedly good. While she favors the grass surface she has had a pretty good hard court in 2007 season going deep into tournaments. With her improved level of play she is a likely finalist.
Li Na had a spectacular game against Vera Zvonareva where after winning the first set 6-4, she had to battle from down 1-4 in the second set to clinch it 7-5. She is a tough contender and should not be underestimated. At even odds she is worth the bet.
Pick: Hantuchova in three sets
Prediction: World No. 4 and second seed at the tournament Svetlana Kuznetsova is the favorite in this matchup. Leading 1-0 in their head-to-heads Kuznetsova should be able to defeat Bammer easily, making her the likely bet.
On the other hand, world No. 46 Sybille Bammer has been playing exceptionally well, claiming one title in this season already she has been making an impression in all the tournaments she has attended thus far. While she is the underdog in this matchup, she has nothing to lose but play her best. Banking on her underdog status might just payout!
Pick: Bammer for the upset.
