No. 146 Frank Dancevic crashed out of the first round last year (his US Open debut), losing to Marat Safin in four sets.

This matchup is a mismatch if there were any in all respects.

On hard and grass Almagro has achieved very little of note this season. Both players are tipped on the favourite plane so clearly either player has a chance to advance. Almagro has experience at this level, which should serve him well against the greenhorn Dancevic.

Tennis Betting Analysis: This is the first time No.5 Nikolay Davydenko meets No.76 Dudi Sela. In spite of never having played Sela though, Davydenko should come through on his favourite odds. Overall, this year, Davydenko has tallied a 43-14 mark for the year and won three titles – one of which was the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami (beat Nadal in the final). Sela brings a 9-19 mark for the year.

Tennis Betting Verdict: This should be a straightforward match for the Russian. He has not had a great summer hard court swing, but beating Sela will be a good way to turn things around and get his US Open off to a good start.
