Flushing Meadows, New York – free tennis picks below on the US Open tennis wagering action available in the tennis betting market at BetUS.com.

Tennis Betting Line: Nicolas Almagro -130 Frank Dancevic -110

Tennis Betting Analysis: Last year No. 18 Nicolas Almagro, courtesy of a relatively easy corner of the draw, pushed to the R32 in New York where he lost to Nikolay Davydenko in straight sets. No. 146 Frank Dancevic crashed out of the first round last year (his US Open debut), losing to Marat Safin in four sets.

This matchup is a mismatch if there were any in all respects.

Almagro is primarily known as a clay courter, evinced by the fact that the bulk of his 32-13 mark, which includes two ATP titles, came on clay. On hard and grass Almagro has achieved very little of note this season. Dancevic favours hard courts, enjoying some of his best performances on this surface but a 6-10 mark for the season points to his inability to perform consistently.

Tennis Betting Verdict: The handicap against Almagro is the fact that he can be rendered ineffective on hard courts by a good hard courter, while Dancevic, who is great on this surface, is plagued by inconsistent performances on this surface. The bookies are torn with this line, tipping Almagro only slightly better than Dancevic in spite of the fact that in terms of ranking, Almagro diminishes Dancevic.

Both players are tipped on the favourite plane so clearly either player has a chance to advance. Almagro has experience at this level, which should serve him well against the greenhorn Dancevic.

Tennis Free Picks: Almagro in four sets

Tennis Betting Line: Nikolay Davydenko -800 Dudi Sela +400

Tennis Betting Analysis: This is the first time No.5 Nikolay Davydenko meets No.76 Dudi Sela. In spite of never having played Sela though, Davydenko should come through on his favourite odds. Overall, this year, Davydenko has tallied a 43-14 mark for the year and won three titles – one of which was the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami (beat Nadal in the final). Sela brings a 9-19 mark for the year.

Tennis Betting Verdict: This should be a straightforward match for the Russian. He has not had a great summer hard court swing, but beating Sela will be a good way to turn things around and get his US Open off to a good start.

Tennis Free Picks: Davydenko in straight sets
