London – On Sunday June 17th, 2007, No. 3 Andy Roddick won his fourth Wimbledon warm-up event.

In a match that almost ended in an upset, Roddick persevered to eke out a 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (2) victory over Nicolas Mahut.

Frenchman No. 106 Nicolas Mahut breezed through the first set, taking it 6-4, but at match point in the second set tiebreak, Mahut netted a forehand and then shanked another forehand to drop the set. With games on serve in the third set, a fired-up Roddick forced another tiebreak finally to take the match.

With his fourth title at the Artois Championships secured, Roddick seems to have found his winning ways. With his confidence rising, Roddick is now touted as one of the men to challenge Roger Federer at Wimbledon starting on June 25th, 2006. At BetUS.com Sportsbook Roddick’s future odds are tipped at +1000 (to win outright); at +450 (to reach the Wimbledon finals) and +175 (to reach the semifinals.)

Over in Halle, Germany No. 11 Tomas Berdych snagged the only other grass-court title last week – The Gerry Weber Open - with a victory over Marcos Baghdatis 7-5 6-4.

With so few grass-court titles up for grabs before Wimbledon kicks-off, the results of the Artois Championships and Gerry Weber Open last week, as well as the Ordina Open this week, could not be more significant for betting on Wimbledon.
