Wimbledon Men’s Semifinal Picks - Two Andy's, a Haas and the King

Wimbledon Men’s Semifinal Odds –One Andy Has a Date with Destiny – and Roger Federer
Okay BetUS tennis betting fanatics, the biggest and most prestigious tennis tournament on the face of the planet – Wimbledon – moves into its semifinal round with two matches that promise to be both, entertaining, and competitive.
First, I will breakdown each match while providing BetUS tennis betting enthusiasts with all the pertinent inside information they will need inn order to make several bankroll-boosting wagers on both men’s Wimbledon semifinal matches.
With the first serve just hours away from being tossed, let me get down to business.
Andy Roddick +4½ -110
M/L +250
Andrew Murray -4½ -130
M/L -400
Over 40½ -130
Under 40½ -110
Analysis: Murray holds a 6-3 career edge over Roddick, beating the big-serving American in their two most at the Tennis Masters in China in 2008, (6-4, 1-6, 6-1) and earlier this year at Doha 6-4, 6-2.
Murray, 22, has won 12 career titles in his brief career, turning pro in 2005 and reached the finals of the 2008 U.S. Open before falling to defending champion Roger Federer. Murray has already won four titles this year alone and enters his semifinal showdown with a year-to-date record of 40-6 while going 5-0 on grass this year.
Roddick has won 27 singles titles in his career after turning pro in 2000, including the 2003 U.S. Open while reaching the finals at Wimbledon in 2004 and 2005 and the U.S. Open final in 2006. Roddick comes into his semifinal match against Murray with a stellar 33-8 record while going 3-1 on grass this year.
As much as I’d like to see Andy Roddick win this match and advance to his third career Wimbledon final, I just don’t see the weak-minded Roddick beating Murray and all his momentum.
While Roddick will definitely have a chance against Murray, I fully believe the Scot’s well-rounded game, not to mention the totally pro-Murray crowd, will be too much for the powerful Texan to handle.
While I don’t think Roddick is going to go down easily as he has improved his fitness, speed and footwork over the last year or so, he is going down nevertheless.
I like Andy Murray to win this match in four sets, covering the -4½ game spread in the process while the total games plays just Over the 40½-Game O/U total.
Wimbledon ATP Free Pick: Andy Murray -4½ Games/Over 40 ½ Total Games
Roger Federer vs. Tommy Haas
Tommy Haas +6½ -140
M/L +700
Roger Federer -6½ Ev
M/L -1600
Over 34½ Games
Under 34½ Games
Analysis: Roger Federer holds an 11-2 career edge over Tommy Haas, beating him most recently in a five-set thriller, 6-7 (4), 5-7, 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 at the French Open in May in the round of 16.
Haas, currently ranked 34th in the world, has won 12 career titles, but no majors in his 13-year career, winning his most recent title just prior to Wimbledon at the Gerry Webber Open at Halle.
The incomparable Federer has won a whopping 59 career titles and 14 career grand slam titles, most recently, his first career French Open championship in May. Ranked second in the world, Federer enters this match with a year-to-date record of 33-6.
Tommy Hass has gone just 17-9 this year coming into today’s match, but has been on absolute fire since the beginning of Wimbledon, turning back the clock – and several younger players along the way.
I think Haas has a reason for a bit of hope after taking two sets off of Federer at the French Open and playing arguably the best tennis of his career over the last three weeks or so, though he will undoubtedly be facing extremely long odds.
In the end, it’s hard (ludicrous) to go against Roger Federer in this match, though I think Tommy Hass will make it more interesting than anyone can imagine.
I say take Federer for the outright win while the total games plays Over the low, 34½-game Over/Under total.
