UFC Heavyweight Championship

Tim Sylvia (-300) vs. Jeff Monson (+250)

Big Guy against not so big guy. One fighter looking to shock the world, and one looking to move on to the next in line.

Tim “The Maniac” Sylvia has beaten the previously unbeatable Andrei Arlovski…twice. He’s six foot eight and can knock out anybody. So I guess we all know his strategy….punch the other guy in the head till he quits or is knocked out. Simple. I also know that everybody knows how you overcome that strategy; you take the fight to the ground. And I know that Jeff Monson is aware of this strategy. Aaaand I know that Tim Sylvia knows that he knows. Whoa. I still have no idea how he can lose. He’s just too damn big! Everybody that has fought him before has used this exact same philosophy against him and not been successful.

The only hope that I think Jeff Monson might have is that he is SO bloody mismatched that Sylvia can’t figure out what the heck to do! Other than that, I see this happening: Fight starts. Monson charges like a raging rhino at Sylvia, grabs hold of him, and Tim fends off the take down two or three times. Each time he does that, Monson pays with a couple of serious shots to the top of his head. After he sees that a take down isn’t happening anytime soon…Monson, with his boxing training in mind, decides to attempt a bit of a slug-out. And The Maniac puts him on his ass. Fight over.

Prediction:

2nd round Knockout for Tim Sylvia
