With all of the hype surrounding Keith Jardine (230) match – also in the Light Heavyweight division.
It’s quite probable that the winner of this bout is going to eventually face the winner of Liddell and Ortiz in a title match. It’s also quite probable that Forrest Griffin will be the guy to step up.
Despite being lanky and a little bit goofy looking, Griffin is a tough-as-nails fighter that is going to dominate and destroy Jardine. He has fought to a respectable record of 13-3-0 – including going the full distance in a split decision loss to Tito Ortiz and winning season one of TUF.
Forrest Griffin is one of those guys who keeps getting better and more technically skilled with each fight. Jardine is no slouch in the octagon and could score a surprise victory if he can land one of his devastating kicks, but Griffin’s defense looks strong.
I think a lot the first round will have these fighters feeling each other out without many overly aggressive attacks. Also, look for the match to stay up on its feet.
Griffin holds an advantage in reach and could really pull away on punches. Bottom line: this is going to be an exciting match with an expected finish.
I see this fight going to the third round with a Griffin victory. They’re both solid fighters, but Forrest is coming out on top.
