UFC 67 Betting Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic Vs. Eddie Sanchez

Eddie who? With all the buzz around Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and his UFC debut on Feb. 3 at UFC 67: All or Nothing, Eddie Sanchez might be feeling a little left out. Who is he anyway?

Sanchez is 24, has only two years of MMA experience, and has a 8-0 record. He apparently took up fighting full-time less than a year ago. I won't be betting on this guy to win, that's for sure. I might put down fifty bucks on him getting knocked out in the first minute of round one.

Sanchez is six-foot-two and 230-pounds, and all of his eight wins have come via KO, TKO and submissions. Cro Cop, on the other hand, is 32, is a veteran heavyweight with lots of experience, and is a former member of the anti-terrorist police unit in Croatia. He has a 21-4-2 record over his five year career. Cro Cop has defeated some big-name fighters including: Heath Herring, Igor Vovchanchyn, Josh Barnett (three times), Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, and Wanderlei Silva while fighting for the Pride organization in Japan. Most recently, he won the Pride Open Weight Grand Prix tournament with wins over Barnett and Silva on the same night. That's one tough guy.

Despite all the hype though, Cro Cop has four losses on his record. He is beatable.

Oddsmakers aren’t giving Sanchez much of a chance to beat Cro Cop. Filipovic is a heavy favorite at -1400 while Sanchez can pocket bettors a big payday at +900.

I hope Eddie Sanchez knows just about everyone thinks he's going to be the lamb tossed to the wolves in facing Cro Cop. Hopefully Sanchez won't be the proverbial 'lamb to the slaughter' and will give Cro Cop a fight. At least past round one.

Win or lose, it's a huge fight for Sanchez and will give him some major exposure. Hopefully not as the guy that was crushed in Cro Cop's UFC debut. We'll just have to wait and see. UFC 67 is dubbed 'All or Nothing'. And for Eddie Sanchez, it could well be all or nothing for his UFC career.
