UFC 225 Free Betting Picks And Analysis

What's up, BetUS? Bruce here with your UFC 225 info. This card is stacked from top to bottom. You've got a former champion on the fight pass prelims, a former WWE star, and two title fights all in one night!

Robert Whittaker faces Yoel Romero in the main event for Whittaker's middleweight title. This will be a rematch of their first fight which saw Whittaker win the interim title at UFC 213. Since then, Romero knocked out former champion Luke Rockhold to earn himself another shot at the championship. You may remember that Romero missed weight by two pounds at UFC 213, so all eyes will be on the scale come Friday night.

Whittaker hasn't competed since beating Romero due to different injuries and illnesses. In that time, he went from interim champ to undisputed champ after GSP relinquished the belt he won from Michael Bisping. Ring rust is real, folks. Will it affect the champ? One thing's for sure, we're in for a hell of a main event.

Free Pick - Yoel Romero (-240) 3rd rd tko

In the co main event, Rafael Dos Anjos takes on Colby Covington for the interim welterweight championship. The winner should face champion Tyron Woodley to unify the belts. Former lightweight champ RDA has been on a tear since moving up to 170. His last fight was a win over the man Woodley defeated to win the title: Robbie Lawler. Dos Anjos has the chance to join an elite group of fighters to win titles in two different weight classes.

In his way will be the up-and-comer, Covington. He's on a five-fight win streak, with his last victory against perennial contender, Demian Maia. As a former all-American wrestler, he will likely try take the fight to the ground. Dos Anjos will try to keep the fight standing to utilize his striking chops which have vastly improved since joining coach Rafael Cordeiro at Kings MMA.

Free Pick - Rafael dos Anjos (-120) via decision

Holly Holm looks to get back into title contention when she takes on former Invicta featherweight champion, Megan Anderson. Holm may have lost 4 of her last 5 fights, but her boxing and MMA accomplishments will always keep her title consideration in the Women's Bantamweight and Featherweight division. She's 0-2 at 145 with both losses coming in title fights. Her fight with Cyborg was entertaining, but still pretty one-sided.

Megan Anderson was brought over to the UFC a year ago, but hasn't fought due to personal reasons. It will be a year and a half since her last fight where she won the Invicta title last January. I believe the third time will be the charm for Holm. She should have the speed advantage is the more technical striker. Either way, these women will put on a show for the fans on Saturday night.

Free Pick - Holly Holm (-230) via decision

In the people's main event, we have former WWE champion, CM Punk taking on MMA journalist Mike Jackson (not related to the king of pop). Punk and Jackson have two things in common: They both made their MMA debut in the UFC, and in those debuts, they both lost to Mickey Gall in the first rd. It's been about two years since both of those fights, so let's see how much more they've improved.

Punk has been consistently training at Roufusport with the sole intention of redeeming himself. Jackson may have only one mma fight, but he has competed before in kickboxing. He will also be looking for redemption after losing his first and only MMA fight. In the end, they should put on a show to kick off the pay-per-view.

Free Pick - Toss up CM Punk (+165) via decision or Mike Jackson (-210) via 2nd rd KO
