World Cup Betting Expert Pick – South Africa and Their Vuvuzelas Horns vs. France

Tuesday’s World Cup betting action presents some interesting drama, as France will take on host nation South Africa and their Vuvuzelas horn-tooting fans.

South Africa vs. France World Cup betting odds:
Tuesday, June 22 10:00am EST

France           -0.5 (+135) Draw (+215)  Moneyline (+135)        Over 2 (-135)
South Africa +0.5 (-155)  Draw (+215)  Moneyline(+205)        Under 2 (+115)

This is the final match in World Cup betting group play for both teams and will prove decisive if either team can come away with a victory.

South Africa is a slight underdog in Tuesday’s match against France, with moneyline odds at +135 and a draw paying +215.

The French are in shambles. Following their 2-0 defeat to Mexico last week, French coach Raymond Domenech scolded striker Nicolas Anelka for being out of position during a goalless first half. Anelka then erupted into an explosion of disgraceful comments directed towards his coach, ultimately resulting in Anelka’s expulsion from the national team.

To make matters worse for France, the rest of the national team refused to train over the weekend in protest of Anelka’s dismissal. Demonstrating a real lack of cohesion, this French team truly seems to be missing that Grey Poupon they had in 2006 when they reached the World Cup final.

There is tremendous pressure on both France and South Africa in this World Cup betting game as a draw between group leaders, Mexico and Uruguay means both France and South Africa will be eliminated.

Adding to the pressure for both teams, France has yet to score a goal in this World Cup and South Africa stands to be the first host nation ever to be eliminated in World Cup history.

World Cup bettors can expect a weak offensive showing from both South Africa and France. The French do possess players with incredible talent, like Franck Ribery and Yoann Gourcuff, but they aren’t connecting on the field to produce any threatening goal-scoring chances.

In the opening match of World Cup betting, South Africa was able to withstand a Mexican attack which yielded 65 percent of the possession.

A physically fit team, South Africa successfully caught Mexico on a counterattack in the 55th minute and South African midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala produced the first 2010 World Cup goal.

South Africa could not completely hold off a pressing Mexican team that eventually produced a goal before time expired to hold the World Cup host nation to a draw.

Last week, South Africa was dominated 3-0 by Uruguay. Although 64,000 fans pleaded for a goal through their Vuvuzelas, they could not help create any real scoring chances for their South African team.

Unfortunately for South Africa, it seems again that the support of a nation vocalized through Vuvuzelas horns will not be enough to propel South Africa into the quarterfinals.

World Cup Betting Prediction:

South Africa will play to a draw with a lowly French team. World Cup bettors should expect a scoreless draw as neither team possesses any offensive prowess. This will be the last match for both teams in 2010 World Cup betting.

The Pick: France vs. South Africa – Draw (+215)
