Eric's Bio
The son of longtime Philadelphia track and field legend George ‘Papa Bear’ Williams, Eric began his professional sports writing career as a senior at Martin Luther King High School in the City of Brotherly Love. Over the decades, Eric has written for a multitude of print and online publications in a variety of capacities including the award-winning Philadelphia Sunday. A product of LaSalle and Penn State universities, Eric has made numerous radio appearances on countless stations across the nation beginning with beloved, late Baltimore Colts offensive lineman and Philadelphia WHAT-AM radio host Johnny Sample. A professional tennis coach for nearly two decades and tennis academy founder, Eric’s inspiring article on Serena Williams is featured in the collegiate textbook, Everyone’s An Author; 2nd Edition. Simply put, Eric lives, eats and breathes professional sports.
